Clean my house, please!

Who has time to clean the house? People have full-time jobs, kids, community activities, not to mention a life. Well, if I told my mother I wanted to get a cleaning lady, she would tell me to pay her and she’ll come over. I think today’s woman has a lot of responsibilities as it is and trying to be superwoman is old news. All I’m saying is, “I’m not your superwoman!”

Here are a few cleaning businesses in the area that I am considering —
The Cleaning Authority
Merry Maids
Molly Maid

However, I have also heard that the best resource, instead of a team of cleaners, is to find one good cleaning person and share her (or him…hey, you never know) with neighbor(s) or friend(s).

You are so right, we are not superwoman. We have been sold a lie in this country that we can have it all and be that superwoman. I have thought about getting a cleaning lady for awhile now and the same guilt trip keeps coming to my mind. I keep thinking my Mom and the older generation will perceive me as being a lazy women who can’t keep house. But the fact is, I just don’t want to spend the little bit of free time I do have cleaning a house. I just need to admit that I need help with the housework and it is okay to ask for help. As soon as it fits in my budget I am going to hire a cleaning service to at least come once a month. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I started when I had a home daycare business. According to licensing, I could take one more child and the income from that child would pay for a housekeeper. I just couldn’t get to the bathrooms, upstairs cleaning and changing the linens while I was taking care of other people’s kids almost 12 hrs. per day Mon.-Fri. & then I had my own kids.

I found an ad in the Pennysaver or somewhere like that for a self-employed individual (I think they have more insentive to be good & reliable). She worked great and when I moved from Clinton to Brandywine, she made an attempt to help me at the further location with the bigger house, but it was too much. I asked around and found my next door neighbor was doing it, though she didn’t have an opening at first, I got on her list and she’s great! Obsessive compulsive cleaner.

    I’m sooo spoiled! ;-)

I wish I could be spoiled in that way! I guess I need to make that happen…
