Check out this four part documentary by former BET producer David K. Far-El aka DBrad exposing BET secrets and blaming the network for the current state of hip hop. This is a few months old, but in case you missed it see below.
Some of DBrad’s major points are that BET has dumbed down their audience and basically killed hip-hop by pushing the thug image. Also, he goes into how BET does not support many female rappers, especially if they have strong, feminist messages. I have since read that BET is threatening to sue the former producer for defamation.
