Beat Your Feet - Have you heard of this gogo dance?
October 30th, 2007 by PG Chic
I am officially old or maybe just out of the gogo loop. I only recently heard of “beating your feet” a couple of months ago at the Black Family reunion downtown. I saw a young guy with a few others dancing (no music) and I thought he was a homeless man dancing for money, but I realized he was “beating his feet” with his buddies. It looks entertaining and there was even a “beat your feet” contest at the Black Family Reunion. I think the kids are dancing to the beat of the newer style gogo maybe.
One of my girlfriends said she heard it came out of Chicago originally…that could be wrong not sure. It kind of looks like breakdancing mixed with a little of the Usher/Omarion-style dancing to me (or like the West-coast “krumping” w/o the clown make-up). What ever happened to the Happy Feet? (lol) Anyway, check it a group of guys that call themselves the Beat Feet Kings at a Prince George’s Community College performance last month (video quality low)…
The quality for this one isn’t that great either, but here is a guy named Crazy Legs who I think is part of the above group.
Just my “public announcement” if you never heard of beating your feet!
