There Goes the Boulevard…I Mean, Neighborhood

Am I going to have to start a GAG (”good and ghetto”) list for the area? I won’t go there. I’ll leave that for the elitist “Hot Ghetto Mess” BET crew. However, I do agree that we have to do better.

Even before the recent triple homicide at The Blvd., I heard a few “urban” tales of the happenings at The Blvd. –

Have you heard that the Golden Corral has a D.J. every weekend, a photographer with backdrop, and evidently there’s a guy selling socks and CDs nearby. Please say it ain’t so. I also recently heard that the Wow Cafe and Wingery, which is next to the Magic Johnson theater at The Blvd. has go-go bands perform some nights. I hate to associate crime with go-go music, but the sterotype exists. From what I could find online, this month Suttle Thoughts (a band that pulls an older, more mature crowd) is performing at Wow.

Take this information how you want, but it’s just a bit much for me. Not a criticism, just an “urban” observation…lol.

It won’t be long before Clinton Portis and Santana Moss get into an altercation at the Sideline.

If this is true then how can ever expect for the Blvd to get better? This is why I do not go there on the weekends because the clientele is very fabulous and I just don’t have the patience for that. I went on Subtle Thought’s myspace page and they perform at the WOW wingery. Why in the hell would you want to perform at a wing shop? I don’t understand our community.

Is that why the Golden Corral stays packed? Every time I have been at the BLVD, The Golden Corral is off the hook packed; never could understand that….

Fabulous is right. I have often wondered if the food is really just “that good” at Golden Corral. I admitted to a friend recently that I have never been to one. It’s just not my thing. Really, how much food can you really eat in one sitting? Someone needs to take some hidden photos and share. I just hope there aren’t white wicker chairs w/ the backdrop…lol.

I did some research on this….lol I called Golden Corral and asked about the D.J. They told me that the D.J is there on tuesday, Friday and Saturday and Sunday.

There is also a photographer there who takes pictures and all proceeds go to some type of children’s fund…. I guess that is ok as long as they are not turning the place into a club after hours..lol But I still will never eat there

Amazing!!! When you thought you couldn’t top restaurants having a cover charge to get in. (See old BET before it became Jaspers)

hey… not sure if you all have been to wow on a wednesday lately, but i think it has actually changed… especially in terms of the clientele. they have a very professional & sexy happy hour crowd! this group called redKarpet Productions promotes their wednesdays now… i’ve been having a good time there!

Well I just might have to go and check it out. See I think the Blvd is ok during the weekday; but the weekends is another story. And now since school is out for the summer, I am sure it is going to be a little off the hook. Hopefully this new policy that the BLVD has immplemented will work
