There is a new salon, Sintia’s Dominican Salon, in Prince George’s (Landover, MD near FedEx Field) that specializes in Dominican styles. Also, see previous posts on the Dominican styles topic. Also, Dominican styles Part 2 of topic.

I went to this salon last night and it was my first time ever going to the Dominican’s. It was a GREAT experience!!!! They were packed but i was in and out in 2hours (that was with a deep condition and roller set on top of the blow out)

OMG!! I was so happy when I saw it in the Penny Saver…There is another one that is advertised on signs when you drive out by exit 13–red star dominican (??) something like that. That is like not in Landover but somewhere like Capitol Heights?? I’ll investigate–:)

Wow. I was impressed. My hair has never looked better. When I went in, my hair was fuzzy and afro-like. I wear my hair natural. When I came out, about 2 hours later, my hair was soft, silky, bouncy and full of luster. I highly recommend this to all.

What a system! You go in and sign in at the desk — tell the receptionist about the service you’d like. She puts it on a slip that you keep with you as you show it at different stations; You are sent to the back for a wash. After your hair wash or conditioner, you sit in the center and get your hair set. Then, you go to the dryer. From the dryer, you sit in the styling section. Your services are provided in the order in which you arrived. And, you are feeling great, because the service has a good flow, you are being treated fairly, as are all of the other customers; and to top it off, you leave with silky, bouncy and healthy hair. This is customer service at its best — because you can tell that the system is set up with - YOU - the customer in mind. You leave feeling as though it was time and money well spent. You also get a great feeling knowing that it all started as a tribute to a friend and you are helping to preserve her memory and give scholarships to the college-bound. Congrats to the owners for a mighty fine execution of your vision.

I’ve got to say that this place is the bomb. For $35 you get a wash, roller set and blow out AND get this, you are in and out in 2 hours. I got a touch up and it was 2 1/2 or so, but Julissa hooked my perm up. Some of our sisters in PG need to take a hint from these Dominican ladies on service.
First, they are ALL friendly. Second, I have only had one stylist talk on the phone after she began styling my hair. Guess what? She apologized for accepting the call. I thought I was in the Twilight Zone or something. Third, very affordable prices.
The one and only drawback is that the secret is out and every woman in PG is up there and waiting in line, but they do a wonderful job, and they will get your hair so straight and bouncy that it is ridiculous. WARNING: Be prepared for intense heat from their sit under dryer and blow dryer. If you are very sensitive to heat, you may have a problem.

Can the Dominican salons work with natural hair and when I say natural I mean no chemicals and straight up tight curls ( I hate the word nappy)? My hair would have to be flat ironed not roller set. I’m curious because I see another one has opened on Marlboro Pike across the street from the old giant and Pep Boys shopping center.

The Hair Company USA is a PG County best kept secret. They are off of exit 15.They are not to far from Sintia’s and they do a wonderful job with my blow out. I have seen them do natural hair but it seems that natural hair is usually blown out and flat ironed. They aren’t as crowded as Sintia’s so you may not have to worry about seeing everybody and their mama when you go.
